you will bash on me for stating the facts, thats like a typical "bumb" forum.....your one of a kind, unique quad....i recall hearing "i would never go with a first year quad, too many problems, such as the bomb and raptor"
i didnt think this was about hate on the guy thats wrong, i come here to learn, obviously you guy are too shallow to realise such.

Maybe it's time to change the sig...
Nobody has a problem with facts being stated here, so I'll post one myself. :
No year of DS650 has had transmission problems. '01 RAPTORS have trans problems.
The biggest problem with first year DS's can be fixed with a $30 piece of urethane with bearings or a $10 skateboard wheel and about two minutes of installation time. Not much of a problem in my book.

Amen. I have a 2000 DS. Stock suspension, the steering can get kind of "precise" or "twitchy" at high speeds, but it doesn't bother me, just makes you sharper and keeps you on the ball.
The chainroller thing is minor and is not worth cussing over. The fans on the 2000-2001's aren't rubber-mounted I think and will probably die in no time. But if your buying a used 2000-2001, the fan has probably broke already and has been replaced by a rubber-mounted one. That was the case with mine.
Other than that, all model years of the DS are built like a brick $hIzzouse inside out.
Thanks

the vforce is not really a 1st year quad cause it uses prarie motor and clutch etc with a bit of tuning. As for jumping, its nice but I'd prefer a lighter quad myself. Vforce is faster between 0-45mph for sure and that's where I do my driving. Anyway the biggest diff is not power, it really manual vs cvt choice between these two. I've always hated polaris machines cause they are all slow so I got biased against autos, but the V700 cured that.
