Default 6 to 14 year old Kids, need reccomendation

My 6 year old has outgrown his 50cc Meerkat. It was handed down to him from his sister, now 9. They are tall for thier respective ages. I'm looking for a model that might work well for them until about age 12-14.

My 9 year old alredy handles my old Honda 200s well, but its to large for her. I'm sure she'll be riding it very well in about 2 more years.

The 50cc didn't last too long as they both grew out of it very fast. What experiences have you guys had??

I went with the Bomb 190cc Ralley for an 8 year old. It fits him really well, I have a Raptor 80cc that has a 3 speed but the whole shifting thing seemed to be more of a distraction on the Raptor 80. He can pay more atention to where he is going rather than trying to get the gears shiffted properly. I would say no matter what you do, try and stick with an automatic. The yungsters all seem to have a heck of time with the whole shifting issue. I personaly think watching were there going and paying attention to the trail are more important than worring about the whole shiffting thing.

I agree on the shifting issue. The 50cc we have now is not an auto and it is a distraction.

I have been browsing the net and came accross the baby falcon and the regular falcon. Both in the 110 cc. or maybe the regular falcon in the 150.

I just bought a mini falcon 90 for my 7 yr old. looking at the measurement from seat to pegs,I'm sure he can get about 3 yrs out of it. But for your 9 yr old it would maybe fit her to good, and she wouldn't get much time on it,till it would be to small. She might need something like the 110.

The mini falcon would be good for the 6yo but small for the 9yo. The 110 would be good for the 9yo but too big for the 6yo. You are kinda at the inbetween point on kids. My son is 8 and fits great on his 110. He may have another 3-4yrs to outgrow it. It is the perfect size for that age. If you can swing 2 I would get the mini 90 and the 110. When my son was 6 he fit ok on the 110 but it still seemed big for him. A little too much for him to handle.

I was thinking the Baby Falcon 110, IT would be on the big side for my 6 yo, and good for my 9 yo. When my 9 yo grows out of this I think she would be ready for a name brand quad or the Old Honda Trike.

Check my gallery for a size comparison photo and a photo of the 6 yo on the meerkat.

I totally disagree with the shifting issue. I think my son learned a lot from shifting. They need to know how to do it eventually. And the other safety concern is that shifting will keep them from going too fast too soon. And for going down hills, your teaching them to shift correctly will help them to go down slower using their gears without locking up their brakes and flipping or going over their handle bars.

I recommend the 110cc. My son is 10 yrs old and loves his Redcat [Kazuma engine] 110. On a flat straight away, it has gone 40 mph with my older daughter driving it. My son does not go that fast. I recommend checking this one out.

The model is called the Redcat VX110. It is a hot bike. You should be able to get it delivered to your door for around $1000 if you check around.

DO NOT BUY FROM "HIGHRPMRACER"!!!!! You will be extremely sorry if you ever need service from them, or warranty problems or even trying to contact them after you buy from them.

Good luck.
