Sorry I havn't got back to you. I have about 1000K on my machine. I just ordered all the parts to fix my machine (1st gear that does not work). I was told by Baja that the Locin and Jianshe have the same motor just the body parts might be slightly different. If this is the case then Yamaha will also be the same since the own each other.

Hey ghcoe, I noticed you posted some pics of your snow adventure. Looks like you gave the Marshin a good run. How'd it handle in the snow? I live in Winnipeg and I haven't been able to play in the snow with my machine yet... I have a couple of parts on b/o and my front end is in pieces. We've had a few good downfalls and it's bugging me like crazy to see how it would perform in the snow.

Thanks,
DanOMite01

It did pretty well. I never got stuck! I was running through 6-10 inchs of snow and a uphill grade. There were times though that I could get off and walk faster than I could ride though. I was realy pleased with it though, it did better than I thought it would. I realy didn't buy it for this kind of use. Some guys from work talked me into going with them. I think they wanted to see how well it would do for themselves.

I have a 2006 Baja Wilderness 250, last weekend I was out riding when all of a sudden it became difficult to shift gears. I have to reach down with my hand and yank up on the shifter to get the next gear. I noticed the indicator light doesn't come on steady in neutral. the reverse shifter had always been a little bit sticky but since the gear shifter problem started it is really smooth. I have checked the clutch adjustment and it is fine. does this have anything to do with the bad transmission I have been reading about , or is that something else. does anyone have an electronic copy of the service manual ?
It would like to see what I'm about to take apart.
I have 600 kms on it and it has been great, been keeping up to bigger ones on the trails

Thought I would add a couple of pics. I regularly go out with the Grizzly 600 and keep up.

Hey davecrash, nice looking machine! I too own a 2006 Baja Wilderness 250 (638kms on it) and noticed the same issue you're having / had. Up shifting / down shifting is stiff (not as difficult to shift as yours) when I am cruising. Typically I massage the throttle and apply a bit of pressure to the shift lever and it will go into gear. I know I need to operate on the machine but haven't had the opportunity.

Was it difficult to remove your right side engine casing? Did you need to order a new gasket from Baja or anything?

I am pretty pleased with the machine, couldn't beat the price!! Only minor issues to date. Took it ice fishing last December and it did well in the snow.

Had it out over the weekend and got a bit stuck. I installed a winch and it was able to pull me free.

Awesome pics you posted by the way!

Had to take of the brake lever, foot rest and plate. the gasket was fine just reused it.
I took the wife out with me this weekend and was very surprised how well it did with both of us on it. made it up some pretty steep hills. I need another one now.

Thanks for the info bud. I know exactly what you mean, I couldn't get my wife off the machine the first time I took it out too! Yep, looks like I'll be buying one more.

If you want the Baja Service Manual let me know. I also have the 2004 Yamaha Bear Tracker Service Manual (our units are a knock off of this machine) if you want that too.

Have a good one.
