I am not only new to Redcat atvs but atvs period. Been riding dirt bikes, street and have been know to throw a leg over the seat of a hog or two in my time.
Questions I have are simple.

I just bought online a DPX200cc utility atv. Looks fine, runs fine, didnt know about <shipping oil, first time buyer of online> or realize until I read the forums to change the oil, will do it in the morning.

When I spoke to the customer service I pruchased the atv from, I specifically asked about the GREEN STICKER for Calif. She said " Yes, it has the green sticker and I will send the paper work"

Well that was May 5th and I havent heard a word since. Ive emailed, several times, will call again in the morning.

Heres what I need to know.
What paper work comes with this or should come with this atv pertaining to ownership, green sticker needs etc.
I called a Redcat dealer here from the forum, I was told they should never have sold me the atv, it wasnt legal for Calif???

The people I bought it from , can never be found, they dont answer emails. So I send another email, it comes back as undeliverable, they changed the format of thier web site. All good, so I send one from thier new web site, comes back same way. Cant be delivered. But since I make copys of every thing, I looked back at the conversation we had at first through the "live chat" forum theyhave and indeed, I did ask about the green sticker and she said yes.

So now that Ive bored any one with my long winded speech < I am woman I have that right?>

Can any one please tell me what I need to ask for when asking about the paper work, Ownership papers, vin numbers, CoOrigin etc?

Thanking you in advance

I did get a dpx 200 registered in california - red sticker. My dmv wanted manufacturer certificate of origin (MCO) - bill of sale from raceway to me and they wanted the bill of sale from the manufacturer to raceway they also did a an inspection on the quad. Inspite of some dealers saying they pay the taxes (raceway) if it's not included on the bill of sale you will have to pay them..It was a pain getting them registered.

Thank you for answering my posting.

Ive been on the phone all morning trying to figure out what the heck a green sticker and red sticker means, what concerns me and how to go about finding out.

First of all I called the Redcat dealer in Arizona<headquarters> They verified that my DPX200CC does indeed only have the RED Sticker. The dealer I bought it from lied. I specifically asked if if had the GREEN sticker, was told YES, it does. I have the proof.

Then I called Ca. State DMV

The DMV knows nothing, the young lady who helped me was surprised at the lack of information but volunteered to send me what she had. Thats fine I will take it.

Then I decide to call the salesmen at HONDA where I bought my husbands dirtbike. Todd, such a wonderful young man steered me on the right course.
He being the "knowing salesman" he is, told me not only the differences, but the hows, whys and what to dos for this atv of mine. Bless his young heart.

So I then proceed to call the BLM, National Forrestry, State Parks etc etc etc.

I think I am one of the lucky few<knock on wood> There is only one area that I cant ride my atv any time of the year. Thats at the Chappie OHV park. From there I called my favorite place to go fishing and was told that I can ride my RED Stickered ATV up there any time I want!! YAY!!

The only requirement is, helmets, one rider per atv, unless other wise legal to do <atv made for two> registration and I am home free!! YAY!!!! <Well not totally free, have to buy the map for $6.95, well worth it to me>

Ok now the only thing is, I still dont have a bill of sale, vehicle transfer papers, nothing. I have 20 days to get that in to DMV. So I am off of here to make that call to the company I purchased the atv from AGAIN to see if they have sent off my paper work and to ummmm, complain about the green sticker "lie" they told me.

Will let you know what I find out!

Jatdee,

First off who was the dealer that sold you the bike? Second they sold it under false pretence. If you paid with charge you can call the Credit card company and dispute the charge. You tell them that you did not get what was ordered. They will try to contact the company and if they dont get any response the credit card company will charge back from the company and credit you.

Heres the update so far!

I called Redcat Motors in Arizona, they tried to switch me to voice mail, told them, I will not be put off and give me a live person.

They finally did, she told me she would send the dealer a email right then and there to get my title to me or she would cancel thier dealership if they were going to have such **** poor customer service.

Must have worked, I just got a email from them, saying they have "ordered" my title for me.

Now as for the red sticker they pulled on me. I paid cash, or should say through my debit card.
I dont like the idea of being chipped but as I said earlier, I am lucky, theres only one place here in my area that will restrict me and I had no intentions of going there any way. So I guess that works out.

Now will just wait on the title and see how long that takes.

One thing I knew as a customer and as`business owner.

You want your business to survive?? Have good customer service!

Well folks. here is the update on my journey through hell with County Imports/ AKA County Motorsports

They also sell on ebay, which I thought was againest Redcats policy but seems its not. They sell thier under the name of... County Imports and More.

I have yet to receive a Bill of Sale, MCO, or anything from these people. I did get a email on May 16th with Carrie <owner> stating she had "ordered" the title to the dpx 200 Redcat utility I ordered from thier website April 23,06. Due to it being a weekend my debit card wouldnt allow the purchase price to go through so they couldnt get the money until April 25,06. I recieved a email order confermation, was even interested at being a dealer through them. Finally after calling nurmerous times and sending emails about the atv I got a tracking number. They delivered it May 5,06.

The crate it was sent in was so mangled my heart sank, I thought for sure the atv was destroyed! The cardboard was torn off, showing excatly where they used the forklift to move it, the forklift driver needs to retake his test by the way, he missed the pallet. The metal crate around the atv is the only thing that saved it. Yes there was a few dings, a left front tire that was creased. I called instantly, Carrie said dont worry about it, I will send you a new one and to accept the bike. Bless my daughters heart for buying me a tons of batterys for my little digital camera because we took 15 pictures of all the shipping damage, to prove how bad it was if needed. the driver warned me it was torn up and was even more shocked when he saw the condition of the metal crate. He in fact held the atv up so I could take pictures of the under frame, pointed out the creased tire, etc.

I accepted the atv, left it in the frame until my hubby came home, I was sooo excited I was going to get to ride again! It took him 2 hours to get the tangled and mangled metal crate off the atv.

He charged the battery, did all the normal assembley stuff and I got to ride my very first atv around my front yard!!!

Weeeeeeeee! talk about fun! I love the atv have had no problems so far with it but umm since I cant ride it outside my yard, Ive ridden it maybe a handful of times around the yard in second gear. Its hasnt even been in 4th gear except once and lugged down so bad, I just kept it in second. my yard isnt that big!!

Ok ok, Im getting there!.
It is now June 8, 06 and I STILL dont have a bill of sale, a MCO or anything to prove that I own this atv ofther then my bank statement and the shipping papers.
I cant ride it because in Calif, it has to be registered through DMV with a red sticker visiable at ALL times. I have called these people so many times there was a noticable increase in my phone bill!! They have never answered the phone, Ive called all of thier numbers, emailed so many times , Ive called the shippinh Company hoping maybe the driver simply forgot to give me the paper work. No, he didnt. Ive called Redcat Motors in Arizona, they have sent these people emails. If they got them I dont know since I havent heard a single word since May 16, 06 telling me Carrie had ordered my title.
DMV cant find the vin number in thier system.
I have tried everything I know to get a simple BILL OF SALE from them just so I can get it registered and ride the blasted thing.

I made one more call this afternoon and once again it was thier answering machine. I told them bluntly once more how I felt but tis time I told them I was starting legal proccedings againest them as of friday if I didnt have a BILL OF SALE in my hand by the end of FED EX or UPS overnight mail.

Now I know I am a woman and I am old, but my patientence level is over, and I will do what ever it takes, what is with in my power to get this taken care of. I have letters already written ready to send to the better business bureau they so proudly display on thier website, small claims forms filled out and ready to file. What ever it takes I am going to do.

Thank you for listening to my rantings, but that is alot of money for a couple of us old people who just wanted to have fun in thier lives ya know.

Wish me luck, tomorrow is another day.

JayDee

Who are you and why are you complaining about my company????? We have a Title request form ON our website that everyone else seems to not have trouble finding. We do not lie and would never tell a customer that it is green sticker when it is not just to make a sale. Sorry but we dont make anything of those 200cc so I dont care if we sell them or not!!! Check your facts! If you have any complaints the EMAIL US THAT IS WHAT WE ARE HERE FOR.....

Jaydee,

I am the owner of www.countyimports.com and we have received this message. First of all there is a section on our website that you the customer need to fill out when you receive your item with the vin number requesting this document. We do try to manually generate them as much as possible however we have this clearly stated on our website where you need to file for your title/mco. I have sent you a private email showing you how to do this. Our business number is posted all over the web and our website. As for the shipping damage. We explained to you from the start to check the item upon delivery to be safe as all us dealers know how shipping companies are. We do not ship you bad goods and from the sounds of it the bike is fine after all. If you have any concers you need to send us an email to support@countyimports.com - We do send titles/mco's out but there is a procedure YOU the customer need to follow. As for the bill of sale. You should have received one automatically after purchase. If not then you contact us. Now I know you have been waiting for these docs. We appreciate your patience. We have sent you an email on our to correctly request the form on our site. Please do so and the form will be sent. Any other questions please contact us 949-429-1619 -or- www.countyimports.com. As for selling on ebay. We sell the little Kazuma 50cc on ebay and is not in violation and it is not a Redcat. And since you don't know I will explain. You can sell any product redcat carries as long as you don't promote redcat in the same auction or have any stickers stating such. Trust me. All the Redcat Dealers out there watch us and everyone else closely to insure we are following the rules. If we didn't we would not be an authorized dealer. Contact us with any concerns. We see you are enjoying the unit and are pleased to see that. The DPX-250 is a great unit and while it lasts we have had many many many happy customers. One last note... If the item arrived damaged, we also have a warranty claim section on our site to help you with that as well. Im my observation I think we are the premier online/local dealer. There were just a few bumps in your paperwork delivery. But YOU need to file for them. Thank you for your report. - CMTextwww.countyimports.com
