A Big Problem with Raceway

The month it has taken me for this final tire was the breaking point ( I still havent even gotten the tire ) and I think this is where the ptoblem lies .

The month it has taken me for this final tire was the breaking point ( I still havent even gotten the tire ) and I think this is where the ptoblem lies .
Here is what I suggest you do...
1) Mix up a few cups of water and liquid dish soap. Fill the tire to at least 7-8 PSI(if you don't have a compressor, they are $10.00-20.00 at the local Wal-Mart for a 12volt car model, buy one.)
2) Use a rag or brush to wipe the soapy water over the tire. You will be able to spot the leaking areas by looking for the bubbles.
3) If it leaks around the rim/tire interface, try pumping the tire up to the max pressure and leaving it overnight like stated above.
4) If the leak is at the valve stem, just replace it. I am going to venture a guess that the local department store will have new stems and the tool to do the job, otherwise you could go to a bicycle shop, auto parts store(best bet), auto/bike dealership, etc. It is probably better to just buy the tool and do it yourself than to pay$$ for someone else to do it. It really isn't much harder than screwing one stem out and screwing a new one in.
5) If the leak is ANYWHERE else on the tire, buy a plug kit and follow the instructions included with it. Again, a very easy procedure. In fact, you should just have a plug kit on hand anyway. Trust me, eventually your kid will put a nail, stick, rock, or something through a tire and it will have to be plugged. Again, these can be bought in any department or auto parts store for less than $10.00.
6) Since your kid already has riding buddies, why not ask a fellow parent for a little help with this project? chances are one of them has both knowledge and tools/supplies needed to get that thing on four inflated sneakers.
7) Any shop that can mount an auto tire can remount those atv tires if they so choose. I had a gas station that didn't even charge me to reseat the bead on my snowblower after I rolled a tire off a few years ago.
Bottom line is your kid wants to ride, and a tire that goes flat overnight shouldn't stop him. Just the addition of tire slime might fix your problem with no further effort from you, but you should at least try the soap and water trick to identify the problem. Raceway already went further than any of the major dealers around here would have under the same circumstances. Good luck with those tires, hopefully you can get set up and riding asap.

I absolutley agree with all of that , But I bought the quad expecting it to work properly in all fashions and it hasnt . I shouldnt have to "work" on it when he has ridden it a total of two times since we got it .
If you read my initial post , I praised Raceway for all they have tried to do for me but it just isnt happening with this quad . I am even considering buy another quad from them because of the way they handled my situation ( outside of getting me a tire that works) but this problem isnt going away .

Slime it and your problem will go away. Be sure to ride it immediately after sliming to evenly distribute the slime. You can buy a cheap compressor, made in China, with substandard tires, and save a bunch of money, or.....
There is no such thing as owning any kind of ATV or dirtbike and not having to work on it. Especially your kid's quad. You will have to fix flats, clean air filters, change spark plugs, change oil and filter, lube and adjust chains at the very least, just to keep it running. Kids ride quads, they don't fix or maintain them, that's your job.
Manufacturers routinely do not warranty tires, belts, batteries, etc. This is all part of owning an ATV. Any brand, any model. Buy some tools and get your hands dirty. Its fun. It's a guy thing. If I didn't fix my kid's quads every time we go out, none of them would get to ride more than a few minutes. Sh!+ happens, and if you are not there to help your kid get going again, well just like in your situation now, your kid doesn't get to ride. You saved a lot of money buying a cheap quad. And you have let an incredibly minor problem stop you dead in your tracks and are blaming the dealer/distributor. Just fix it and get over it.

Fowl,
You need to take a step back and breathe. You complaining about Raceway will fall mainly of deaf ears, especially when they have gone above and beyond to fix your problem. Expecting them to send a tire mounted on a rim is ludicrous. Find a big four dealer that will do that, it won't happen. And it shouldn't happen because 9 times out of 10, the problem isn't the rim. The bead probably isn't seated or the valve core is loose. Buy yourself a valve core remover (it will be under 5 dollars) and tighten your cores. And if that's not what it is, check your beads to see if they're seated. But don't come on here and bash Raceway when they have gone above and beyond for you.

We now see what is going on here. When someone is backed into an indefensible position they lash out and resort to name calling. Calling a member here stupid does not justify your actions. I did read all your posts and if you settle down and think about what you have said it is very childish. One thing I did notice is that you stated you took the new tires out for a two hour ride and the next day one was flat. So how did you immediately come to the conclusion that the tire was defective? Didnt it strike you as remotely possible that the tire was punctured with a slow leak when you rode for two hours? How can you make these assumptions when you havent even checked where the leak is coming from?
Your behavior suggests to me that you have other motives going on here and you just want an excuse to return the quad. If thats the case just state so and do not make up silly excuses.
You state that you are considering buying another quad from Raceway? If the tire develops a slow leak are you going to return it? It is people like you who unfortunately raise the cost of products fot us all by this type of pettiness.

Quadster

I hate to say it FOWL444, but maybe you should reread your own posts and edit them to be consistant. The thread topic is "A Big Problem with Raceway" but then you describe a company that has gone above and beyond to please you, stated so yourself, and said you would purchase from them again. I don't really see your problem as "big" either. Like I stated above, I have cut a sidewall after no more than 5 minutes on a brand new quad before, and that was on private trail that sees little use but gets groomed at least 2 times/year. It is common for offroad tires to get punctures and other problems. Eventually you will have to be able to deal with these things on your own anyway. Again, good luck, and I hope you get that quad running. Personally, I am jealous because we have to much snow here for the minis right now.
