i have been searching for more info on the 250 hunter. does anyone out there actually own one and if so how do you like it or dislikes? i am 6'2' 280lbs and i am looking for something cheap but enough to pull me around probably not much hard trail riding just tooling around the 5 acr farm just something to keep up with my son on his falcon 110. wife is also looking to get a quad so price becomes an issue buying two at once and i'm not really looking to buy used units. i've heard all the talk about china built atv's but we have had no problems out of the kazuma in 2 years and also will probably only ride maybe 4 or 5 times a month.

If you are not going to be riding it a lot and you are easy on them they should be fine, I have heard that jetmoto is one of the best there is for china built atv's.

I know that with my experience with offbrands I wont buy any of them. I have had a 85 250 yamaha that i hop on all the time to go hunting and I have rarely had to do any work on it. I have an old 87 80cc yamaha that I just rebuilt the motor on last fall and its running great again(technically the motor didnt need to be rebuilt just a valve, but if your there why not, ya know).

Welcome to the forum locmj!

Sorry for the delayed response. I think the '07 or '08 Hunter would be a great choice for your kind of riding..I got a '06 Jetmoto Hunter for my father in law to use on his property. He has had it for about a year or so now. I was just up there for Thanksgiving and he said he had problems keeping it running the last time he fired it up. I took off and cleaned out the carbs and it was running like new again. He thinks he has about 50-60 hours on it so far and does everything he asks of it. He mainly tows around a little trailer and does maintainence on his 5 acres with it. It does get some recreational riding but nothing really sporty, just goofing around.
