Jet Moto Need Non-Bias Opinions

Ok, So ya'll have convinced me that the 250 is a better way to go and I agree. I just need to choose between the jet moto and Vbike V4sw. It looks like the vbike is cheaper and they look nice. I think for the kind of riding I will be doing it will hold up pretty good.

Take a look at my site, I have two 07 150's. They are fun little atv's But for about the same price for a 40year old the Vbike 250 may be a better atv.

Outofline, where did you get your jet moto 250? How much was it?

Welcome to the forum axl_rose! _
I have had good luck with my Jetmoto's. Ive got a 125, 150, 200 and 250. All are still running well and are a lot of fun for the people who ride them. My 150 is in the middle of a 3mm stroker crank and 4mm over bore rebuild. Not because it needed it but because I had the parts laying around.
From what I have read here there are quite a few people very happy with their V-Bikes also..

Well I bought all 4 together and 6 helmets so John at Raceway made me a killer deal. I don't know if I have ever published it out loud but I will now! The 250's were $1500 each. and $1250 for the 150's!
Did you have a chance to look at my site, got lots of video on there! Oh ya I'm 46 years old 6'2" 230lbs just so you can see how they preform with a guy my size!

There are plenty of negative V-Bike posts if you would like me to find all of them.
The bummer about Raceway is they had their own forum here for a long time. With the economy like it is they cant afford that level of advertising here...so ALL the posts in there are gone. The majority of those posts were positive...

Figured I would weigh in on this... I owned a JetMoto 250... (see it here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VinqfWLhFiQ ) There are a couple more vids on it. I did some homebrewing to mine to make it run better. For what I have seen, and experienced, I enjoyed it. As with anything, you will need to put locktite on any screw you turn, or bolt you tighten. Especially on the front components. I would not buy one preassembled, period. I would buy one and take the time to assemble it myself to make sure it is done right, does not matter what brand you buy when it comes to that. Power wise, I outran a 250 ex and a 350 Rancher with mine. It would wheelie with a little tug on the handle bars and a bump on the throttle, no need to dump the clutch. I am not sure why you are wanting a 150. I would go with the 250 all day long.
While I never got a straight answer, I believe that Lifan produces the engines (or at least the larger CC) for Jet and Vbike. Don't get in all the hype, the Vbike and the Jet are the same quality under the plastic. The Jet I had used adjustable shocks with reservoirs, so I do not see how Vbike has better suspension. They are lacking on the rear end that I am certain. They might pull a little harder due to a smaller front sprocket, but I bet the Jet I had would outrun any of the them with the same mods.
Now, I am 6'4 235 all day long. That is me riding that Jet in every vid. I pounded it unmercifully on numerous occassions and it held up great with NO ISSUES anywhere. I did not even scratch it. The plastics will not be as sturdy as what you would find on the big names, that is a given. The welds are not pretty. But for what you spend, you are getting a decent piece with the Jet... Having said that, for the same money you can get a nice used Warrior, or older Raptor that will blow the plastics clean off of it... but if you are wanting new, give them a consideration...
Plan on having to work the carb some, put a new fuel filter on it, some needed batteries, mine was fine. The floats come packed with gel that is supposed to dissolve when gas touches it... it's gonna stick, and when it does, you will need to unstick it... I started mine, picked up the rear end, and dropped it three times while idling. Then I took a dowel and a hammer and tapped around the bottom of the bowl. Then I swapped the carb alltogether for a Japanese carb that helped quite a bit performance wise.
Oh, I have a never used carb that I bought for the Jet, I bought two, it is Japanese, and the other one helped quite a bit with the 250...
