Default Vbike 250-V4D engine size?

Got a Vbike 250-V4D last week. All advertisements for AimEx or TaoTao it state 250cc engine. When I received the crate the ATAxxx-D was cut out from the outside cardboard box. I also read on other sites that it was a 233cc actual size.

I was wondering if I got short changed by VBike and only sent me a 199cc as they use to sell a ATA200-D. Most sites say discontiued model when you google ATA200-D.

Who else ordered a 250-V4D and what engine size did you get. [ Welcome to VBikeUSA.com ]

Nope it's correct but most of the 250's are 229cc so looks like you made out like a bandit. Don't say anything or they may want ya to send back the 4 extra CC's!

From what I can see 200 are in fact 200cc where the 250's can range from 229-233!

No, I did not get a 229cc, or even a 233cc engine, I receive a 199cc engine with my ATA250-D quad.
Outofline, I think you misunderstood, I ordered a ATA250-D from VBike, which should have a bigger engine. Advertised on many sites as a 250cc engine. Mine was only 199cc.

Will it sounds like they shipped you the 200 model or something if its under 200cc. Have you contacted V bike maybe there is a mix up or something.

How are you confirming the engine is 199cc? Any documents or box labels should not be trusted. I know in California the mfg like Jetmoto must affix a metal tag to the frame stating model, vin, engine number, and engine displacement. If it has one and says 199cc then I would go with that and call the dealer telling he shipped the wrong unit and either demand he take it back and give you a full refund or make you a super discount/refund to keep it if you can live with the 200.

Hopefully, you have not uncrated or done much assembly so you can have it sent back easily. Quite a bummer if it is now fully assembled.

I'm sorry to hear this story as there is likely no easy way get this fixed. Returning and getting another (the right size) without any money out of your pocket would be the best but are going to lose several weeks time. Anything else is going to be less happiness.

Keep us informed if you need other ideas or help.

Good luck!

Default Vbike 250-V4D engine size?

The information come from the tag riveted to the rear swing arm:
MFR: TaoTao Industries Co. Ltd.
Eng Family: 9V/*** 250 AMA
Displacement: 197cc
The front tag has a silver sticker: [ATA250-D] with 2009 year on a rivited plate.

I called around a few other Chinese ATV dealers in ALA, FLA, they stated that the engine should be 233-249cc. Then called VBike dealer, the sales fella said thats about right. I explained that their web site states 250cc with 20 hp. I wanted to speak to the Manager, he was unavailable, they did take my phone number, but the manager never called me back.
I fell that I was sent an ATA200-D which was made but discontinued. Its like ordering a car with a V8 an when you get it, you get a V6 engine. It has been 1 1/2 weeks, all put togeather. But the princple that I didnt get what I ordered or pay for, kinda ticks me off. I will continue to call VBike til I get resolution. Stay turned for updates.

Dunno about the tags on your bike. Like MWQ says I would not trust the tags. ATVs sold in California come under much stricter controls and must have metal tags with VIN and other key data like displacement. They could fake it but that is getting way over the line and getting busted would likely get you big fines and jail time.

I know there are others who bought V bike, maybe search the forum for some other owners and try to contact them directly.
Try this place ZaksATVZone.com They brag about knowing everything about chinese atv parts interchange. They ought to be able to help you figure out what you have.

Default VBike 250cc in Question

Tim at VBike must have seen the post. He called me, assured me it was a 250cc engine and the reason the swing arm metal tag stated 197cc was due to rules in California.

Anyways. Some of you have ask for pictures of the engine. I have research some of the 200cc and 250cc Chinese engine on different web sites. Looks like either a 200 or 250cc, I can not confirm. Maybe someone with more knowledge on these Chinese engine can enlighten me on what it is. There is not markings on the engine. I appreciate all those that help, your great.
