taotao 125d atv clutch problem
Hey guys. I got my son a taotao last year. Been a good quad till he burnt the clutch up. I got a new one and replaced the junk one. Got I put together, started it and put it in gear and it lurched forward and killed the motor. So I put a block under it to adjust the clutch. When I started it and put it in gear the tires started spinning. The idle on the carb is low enough. No matter how much I adjust the clutch screw the tires still spin and if I try to stop the tires it kills the quad. I took it back apart thinking I put the spring in wrong or something, put it back together and it stayed the same. Any answers or advice would be great.

not to jump into someone's post but since you have figured it out maybe you can shed some light on mine. I just bought a taotao 125 for my son with forward and reverse it does not pull itself in the yard very well from a dead stop or up inclines at all without a running start on the gravel drive does great. Clutch adjustment? I know it is a (centrificial spelling) clutch but is it adjustable?

I've never worked on this model that I can remember and not sure what engine it has. But if it has a GY6 style then the primary drive belt could either need adjusting or replacement hopefully. That would be the best you could hope for, or it may have a problem with the driven clutch if the engine has good compression, valves are adjusted correctly and the carb is working like it should.
If it has a variation of the E22 and is a automatic transmission the clutch may need adjusting or replaced.

Clutch replacement
Did you have to remove engine from the bike to replace the clutch?
