Tao Tao 150B Quad - Cranks but doesn't start
#12
I'm using new gas each time. What I mean by each time, is that when I remove the carb, I have to drain fuel from the tank upon removal of the hose to the fuel inlet of the carb. When the carb is removed, there is fuel in the float bowl. The air filter box with filter is in place and the clamp to the carb is tight. I do have an intake gasket with an o-ring. I think the person who had it before me put the gasket backwards. He had it to where both o-rings were mating. So I reversed it each o-ring mated with the flat surface. I also plan on getting a compression tool, feeler gauges, and spark plug gap to check those. I put my finger in the spark plug hole and felt compression but will want to measure that properly. Another weird thing is that when I checked for spark, I felt the spark when holding the coil by the boot. Is that normal?

Hey all, just an update here. FINALLY got the quad to start! I ended up opening the float bowl drain plug to let fuel out and ensure it was getting to the carb. Once i saw fuel coming out, I sprayed carb cleaner/starter fluid in the carb and started. After a few cranks, it started! Can't tell you how happy I am! I've replaced the carb, CDI, Spark Plug. I was about to adjust the valves, but couldn't remove the cover completely as the handlebar posts were in the way. Glad i was able to get it started before trying to mess with the valves. Now on the tuning the carb (fuel mixture ratio/idle adjustments) and air in the tires. Thanks all!

Trying to get any and all info I can on this atv, I bought 2 atvs off a guy and dont know anything about either except what they are. One is the kazuma mini falcon 90cc, it seems as though it's not getting spark but I'm not sure what plug it needs (I don't believe the ine that's in it is the one it requires) I'd like to know what plug and wire harness i need for it any and all help would be very much appreciated. The second one is a 2005 Roketa rtj-150d would like to find info on it also if anyone can help. thanks in advance, ride safe.

"it seems as though it's not getting spark"
Either it is sparking, or it isn't, which? Spark plug for Honda 90 is NGK CRX7HSA if the Kazuma uses a copy of the Honda engine, I expect it will use the same plug. Far better to find the fault and fix it, on ignition systems, than fit new parts. Look through the past postings on here, it is littered with people who have "changed everything" and still no spark, or got stuck because the "universal" harness they bought, didn't match the rest of the wiring on the bike.

Hey all, so I was able to spend a little more time on this. I can spray some starter fluid down the spark plug hole and crank. It seems like its gonna turn over, but doesn't. When i apply throttle, it just chokes. When i messed with, the throttle was stuck and seized so I had to pull the carb out and unseize the throttle. I about to just take my loss and sell this thing as is. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance all!
wont crank try adjusting the valves that's the number one problem with these engines the valves tighten up and won't start
