Default New to the Chinese Atv's

Hello all! New to the forum. Recently was given a Python 200 manual clutch w/ reverse. (that's what the stickers say on the quad anyways)This quad is also shaft driven, not the common chain and sprocket. the Quad does not currently run as the previous owner started to take it apart and i was given a bucket of parts and bolts along with another engine. Looking for help with trying to identify the engine manufacturer.

Engine currently on the quad
Stamped below the shifter
169FML
*5B060015*

Extra engine given with the quad
Stamped below the shifter
169FML
*5B060020*

Any help or info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

The engine is a 69mm bore copy of a Honda motorcycle engine but, if shaft drive and with reverse, the makers have altered the transmission considerably. Python 200 comes up on Google as a website in Poland.

Thanks for the reply!

Seems to be many makers using the same engine and setting each quad up differently. Makes it hard to narrow down exactly what part you need when ordering with so many different options and so little info.
Again Thanks for the Reply!

Which parts are you looking for? Is this the air cooled version or the liquid cooled?

Most common is the air cooled, upsized clone of the Honda cg125. They are made by many manufacturers and many parts interchange, but not all.

It is indeed the air cooled model. I will be needing clutch, throttle and choke cables for sure. And possibly carb internals. I have the carb apart and it was so full of varnish that i have it soaking in carb cleaner now. i will have to see if the jet sizes are stamped on them when they are clean.

After i get the carb back on I want to do a compression text as well. I'm not sure but i thought i read somewhere that you need to hold WOT when doing a compression test.

I figured if i can get this thing running for a couple hundred bucks i will let my boy ride it so he stays off mine! lol

Thanks

Chances are the clutch, throttle and choke cables from a Taotao ATA250D or Rhino are the same and readily available.

The carb should have a number stamped on the side with PZ27 being the most common. Whole new carbs can be had for under $20 on eBay if needed.

Yes, hold throttle open when checking compression, or you can check it with the carb off.

I will check the TaoTao cables out and also to see if there is a stamp on the carb.
Thanks for the help and the reply's! They are greatly appreciated.

Looks like the cables that you stated above will work. You were also right in regards to the carb. I just ordered a new carb at least then i will have an extra on hand at least.

Went digging a little further to see what a piston and rings would run but i'll be damned if i can find one that says it is for the 169FML with the 69mm bore! Every piston that i come across while searching is listed for the 163FML which is a 63.5mm bore.

You wouldn't happen to know where i can find the right set up would you?
Thanks!

Could well be mis-stamped, as my Taotao was. It's stamped 171FMM but I measured the bore at 63.5mm. Even if it is a 67mm bore it can probable be replaced with a 63.5 piston/cylinder set, which are cheap and available.

No, the 69mm bore is right for a 200cc engine. The 63.5 bore is for a 150cc version, which had a different stroke. They are both copies of the Honda CG150 and CG200 engine. Found this on eBay for the clutch plates. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/New-Clutc...-/351800807047

My advice is to buy the bits you know you need before worrying about new cylinders.
