By "pickup" are you referring to the coil that goes on the outside of the flywheel? I suspect this trigger coil will be the same on most Honda clone motors, so would take one off the cheapest 6 pole stator I could find, and solder it to your stator blue/white wire. Check it's mountings are the same, and that it doesn't hit the pip on the flywheel.

no sorry I should have said source coil there is a coil on the stator that is a bigger coil then the rest with epoxy on it.it is wrapped with smaller gauged wire than the rest on the stator . I get 0 reading with a omhs meter when I test it and I can see where the stator bolts must have come loose and it rubbed against flywheel and broke some wires on it the rest of the stator is fine..i have read online but cant see what this coil does and can it be bypassed or do I have to find a stator that will fit thanks.

ok I found out what the winding is called that is damaged its called the exciter coil and I take it this sends a signal to the the cdi to produce spark to the spark plug. but I take it. it is also part of the charging system .

There are stator re-winders that can do it for you. We often get Honda etc, stators re-wound. It will be more expensive than a Chinese 6 coil stator though. The exciter provides the power to the CDI, the trigger coil provides the timing.

Default 7 pole stator

Hello, did you ever get this figured out? I have the same exact problem. Did you try the 6 pole?
