Chain rubbing on frame
#2
Just a guess, but there may have been a nylon roller attached to the top hole in that bracket on the swinging arm. don't forget though, once the bike is sat on, the frame will move away from the chain. By the way, your split link is on backwards and the chain needs lubricating.

split link keeper is ready to fall off.... it is quite common for these to rub the frame. Like said above once you sit on it it will stop a bit but usually not completely. The issue being is the sprockets and mounts are not 100% true so this causes the chain to loosen and tighten as everything turns. Iv been planning on putting a tensioner on mine just to take up that little bit of slack

Thank you for the responses. I am a complete noob to these so bare with me. Thinking of what you said I am going to guess that a split link is the link in the chain that connects it? Also I was thinking of putting a hard nylon chain guard on the top of the swing arm. Thoughts?

I would have thought this would be the most suitable type https://www.ebay.com/itm/2x10mm-Type...wAAOSw5hVdW5wx but the diameter would be critical, too big and the chain would be hard on the top roller when driving, too small and the chain would still rub on the frame.
My mistake about the split link, the keep isn't on backwards, like Zrock wrote, it is loose though.
