Default Crazy Electrical Problem

I just put in a new wiring harness and carb. Ran a jumper wire at brake kill switch. Turn key on. Push switch on handle bar to on. Push starter switch. Motor turns over normally and runs a little bit. Move choke. Turns over normally, but no start. Push start button again and it cranks for a while, but no start. Let off but it continues to crank. Unplug wires from handle bar switch, still cranking. Turn off key and then unplug wires, still cranking. Unplug CDI, still cranking. Finally disconnected battery and it stopped. Any ideas???

Solenoid stuck closed, fit a new one. However low battery will cause it to stick so, if your battery is flat, it will do the same thing to your new solenoid. Find out why it is bad to start, so you are not flattening the battery with trying.

I think you're right about the solenoid, but it might not be bad. I was in a hurry to start the motor, so I just kinda threw all the wiring up on the frame and rolled the quad out of my garage. The solenoid ended up on the axle carrier with the poles down. Oops! I'll hook everything back up tonight and see what happens. If it does it again I'll change the solenoid. Thanks for the response.
