Default starter keeps turning over

sometimes (Not all the time) the starter keeps turning over when you turn the switch key off. You can turn on the kill switch , doesn't matter . The only way it stops is , turn the switch key off while pressing the start button and flicking your thumb off it.?I've replaced solenoid, starter switch,starter/kill switch. Please help

Well it is the solenoid sticking as, once you turn the ignition off, no power is going to the start button. However, we have had this problem after fitting new solenoids too, and the reason seems to be a weak battery. My theory is this slows the solenoid down enough for the contacts inside to arc and stick together once engaged.

Smile starter keeps turning over

hot wire from the battery goes to one side and wire from solenoid to starter on the other. two small wires come from solenoid to a plug. blue and red. after looking at the old solenoid I realized that the wire from the battery goes to the red wire side . I had it hooked up backwards. I didn't even know it would start hooked up backwards , but yeah it started hooked up both ways . I think I have it . Thanks for your help .
