Hi just joined. I picked up a 250cc twin Ducar powered atv. Got it running on one cylinder. Little to no spark on second. Are there 2 cdi ...one dor each coil or do they share? Both coils test good. What should the voltage be to coil not running/ running? Thanx.

 

Btw coil resistance was 3.4 without boot ans 8.4 with.

 

Don't know the model at all, but some use one CDI firing both coils from one pin on it. Some have two pins, some have two CDIs. Trace the wires back from each coil to find out.

 

Ok found I have a single 6 pin cdi. The 2 center pins are black/yellow going to coils. What should the voltage/resistance going to coil be? If I have to replace cdi where do I get one? All the ones I see those pins are ground and coil?

 

This is my cdi setup. I can not find one for sale.

 

Do the help diagnose stator tests in the sticky at the top of the engines section here. If everything else tests out OK it is your CDI. The trouble with twins is they are rare, I had similar problems with a 250 Quadzilla and had to get a genuine CDI. Try swapping left and right coils and see if the fault changes to other cylinder, this would indicate a faulty coil.
