Good afternoon everyone,

we just bought a 11cc for my little guy and when inrode it to ensure all is good it steers better left and sharper but barely turns right- it turns but it’s double to triple the radius of the left turn.

is this normal for these ATV’s. It’s toe in correctly both measure equally from center of the tire on the front and back. Nothing is blocking the steering.

any help would be great.

I don't know the model at all, but an adult on a Kids Quad moves the weight too far back and this makes the front end ultra light, so they tend to go straight on when you turn the steering. If this is your problem, it will cure itself when a child gets on it.

 

The wheels physically turn further to the left than the right.

 

So it looks like the bump stop isn’t centered so it travels further one direction vs the other. This would be fixed by adjust the tierods right?

 

The tie rods are set so handlebars are at 90 degrees to rider when wheels point dead ahead. If you move tie rods away from this, steering will be weird. Normally, on quads, the stops are welded to frame under the lower steering column bearing and the steering drop arm hits them at full lock either way. If drop arm is not centred with bars at 90 degrees and tie rods have been adjusted to suit, drop arm may be on the wrong spline. However if a stop has been welded on in the wrong place, best to get it cut off and welded in the right place, you may get away with grinding or filing a bit off the offending stop, but don't weaken the stop too much or it may break off.

 

First off before you go cutting and welding anything. Get the bars strait and use a strap to keep them that way and stand in front of your machine and see what way the tire or tires are pointing.. Im betting you have a tire that is out... Best way i have found is get 4 objects like jack stands or something, place them front and rear of the machine and run a string front front to back making sure the string is touching the rear tire (front and back of rear tire) and best you can on front tire. Adjust the tie rods so you have about 1/8 inch of tow out on the front tires. If you google this method you will find lots of pictures. I have had to do this to 2 arctic cats and 2 import machines the cats were actually towed the wrong direction from factory... A properly set up machine when turning one tire will turn slightly sharper than the other by design. Also with these machines the rear axle is locked so both tires spin at the same speed and sometimes this will cause the machine to push slightly when turning making it harder to turn..

 

did you ever figure this out? We got my son the same model and we’re having the same issue with turns. Turns one direction great but the other you have to take extremely wide to make the turns
