Yerf Dog Rover Need chain size
#1
Bought this for the farm over the weekend, Yerf Dog Rover model 34800, 150cc I believe, I have not been able to locate the engine plate ID yet. As I have been reading, it has the usual problem of the chain skipping on a hill and the tensioners are shot. I plan on replacing all that as the machine is in really good shape having been garaged since 2003 to 2020. It has 621 hours on it in that time, which seems pretty low to me for its age. I cannot find online or in the manual any reference to the replacement chain size, only that it is part 19-1, which doesnt tell me anything. I am sure someone here has replaced a chain on one of these at some point. Could you give me better specs on a chain size, links, etc?

Yup, saw them, they list a bunch of different size/link chains, but dont tell you what they fit. Same with all the other places I checked, thats why I asked here, maybe someone already figured it out. Links range from 66 to 110, and what is #530 chain? I am trying to avoid taking the chain off this one to try to measure it up, although most of the parts sites dont give the measurements to check against, so not sure if that would do any good.

On my smaller Polairs, I ran a 520 chain. The 530 is just a heavier version of the same chain. Didn't see the model you had listed in this group, but it did show some pictures of the models, which may help see which chain you might need.

Looking at yerf dog replacement parts for your model, I found the manual the listed the chain part as number 05100. Looking over on BMI's site, your model number brought up this for the chain.

Yes , thanks, I would do a 530 for sure, Just got this thing so still searching for sites I may need for parts, and still getting the model numbers and things I need. I think the tensioners should be ok with that as well.
Good info to get me going, thank you.

thats why I need to check the tensioners for compatibility. I will measure up what I can first. Otherwise I would just go with the 520 for now. Looks like 54 links in that photo, so I will count mine first.
