Article in todays Newsday 2/17/06, Nassau county police will conficate or ticket ATVs that are not licensed and can pass inspection, on all roads and private property(unless you have permission by owner.) All this because a 20year old was killedwhile losing controll on a roadway and hit a tree. First offense $500.00, second $1.000.00 We are certainly giving them plenty of ammunition by not obeying the rules. Many riders are contributing to this by not following the dos and don'ts. I quote (136.000 riders were injured in 2004 of which 130 died. We are killing our own sport.

 

I sounds like to me that they think all atvs were rode on roads. I have delt with a few avts running. There is no reason in the world why I would chase one. I'd like to know how they plan on making this happen.

 

They can make it stick as on Long Island we have only one legal riding place. and most of the land is privately owned. Most riders have to leave the island go to adjoining states to ride on trails. What I don't understand ishow an ATV passes motor vehicle inspection. Keep tuned

 

There is no legal place to ride anywhere on Long Island. Just wait to you see the new noise ordinence the town of Brookhaven is going to pass. FYI the fines start at $1000.00.
Plus you have to admit, most peoples IQ's drop 80 points when the get on a quad. The dumb morons ruin it for all of us.
