how do you like the 18" rears and mx fronts? I am thinking of getting them butI was wondering if there is a downside to them. I occasionally trail ride and I know that ground clearance would be sacrificed, but is it worth it and why? Are the MX fronts car tires that are grooved and sized 145/10?

Hakmazter,
I like the 18 rears, definitely more control of the rear end on the mx track. The front radials however, I would much prefer a 19 to 20 inch atv tire than a car tire. I ride mainly loose dirt and sandy tracks in South Florida and these don't bite at all in that terrain. The downside is that if you go with 22" atv tires in the front you feel like you're on a harley rather than a quad setup for mx. Can't wait for the new holeshot 20x10 fronts.

Just curious? You do realize that the stock gearing of 15/38 and your desired 14/36 are basically the same final gearing.stock=2.53,your 14/36=2.57.the stock 15f/36r=2.40 not a big change but should be noticeable. What are you trying to accomplish for the mx track with your gearing?Do you want more revs or more torque pull or are you trying to regear to offset 18inch rears? With stock size tires,if its revs put on 13f with your 36r for a 2.76 final, not really recommended due to such a small primary drive on a torquey motor, better off with 14f/stock38r=2.71 for durability. If its torque pull a 16f/your36r=2.25 should be nice and with 18inch rears should be closer to stockgears/tires than anything.have fun
