Mudlites on stock Wolverine?
#1
Anyone running them? Do they take away power being 25"? Whats the best tire for a stock Wolvy? I ride mostly trails with a little mud bogging thrown in. Are Titan 489XTs better?

Someone I know has mudlites, he loves them , but they are on a scrambler. The tires rock, he does a lot of trails, and loves the mud. They do kick up a lot of stuff! Not sure how thety would do on a wolvy, though.

Stay with the mudlites. I have them. It will almost seem like you dont need them when they are on (which is the point, right?) They are some of the lightest mud tires and they do great.
Try to stay with the stock size unless you have some reason to switch.

My stock size are 23's. The Mudlites come in 25's. I thought since they weigh less than other mud tires, they might not rob me of as much power. I was wondering if anyone had them on a stock Wolvy?

23" Mudlites

The 23" tire they make is not for a 12" rim, that's the main problem with the Wovlerine, it is geared for a 23" tire, but has to be a 12" rim, really limits your choices, unless you like wide offset rims to clear the disc brake calipers.

Talk about a late reply.......I have 25" Mud Lites on my stock '03 Wolverine. They do great! A little more ground clearance, a LOT better than the stock Dunlops on all terrain, and 1st gear is now usable in the mud! I haven't been stuck yet with them making quite a few passes through 6 or 8 places I used to get stuck each time.

I would want to keep smaller tires on it to keep it as sporty as possible. There aren't alot of true sport/utes out there. The 489's come in a 23x8-12 and 23x10-12. You might want to try the ITP ATR's in the 25's (sportier). The Mudlites might be better in the mud.
