Default Warn 424 problem

I bought my 424 Select back in September and installed it on my Honda 300 4x4. What a difference! Up until tonight I have had no problems with it but tonight I took the kids out sledding behind my quad and after I was out for a while I went through some unbroken snow. I started bogging down really badly and I noticed that the front tires weren't pulling at all and that there was a clicking sound if I put it in 4x4 mode. At first i thought the 424 unit went out on me but then I noticed that the output shaft was spinning and the clicking noise was coming from my front differential. I finally got it out of the snow and back to the house fearing that my differential was toasted. However, upon closer inspection I noticed that it looks like the whole 424 unit has slid backwards about 1/4" and is not allowing it to engage the differential's splines. I tried to call Warn but they're closed due to the bad weather. Has anyone else ever had this problem? I did install the spring between the 424 and the transfer case (the one that was on the old drive shaft) so that shouldn't be the problem. Any suggestions?

JC
