Default Tire size reduction or Performance upgrade?

I have a 03' Rincon, and rode it a few times before I put the 27" Big wheel kit on. There is a significant power loss from stock to aftermarkert(obviously). Would going down in size of the tires make more sense or doing some performance upgrades? Then the next question , what tires to go with!

I am looking for anyone's input. I guess nobody has any suggestions, or has ever encountered this??

You don't want to start messing with your engine. That engine has already been super engineered up, down, backwards and sideways with big money by the manufacturer. With your "Big Wheel Kit" you have got yourself a nice taste of aftermarket. At this point, if you are smart and heed what the tea leaves say, you will lose the big dumb tires and pick something else out in stock size. Anyone who tells you aftermarket has all the answers is not the brightest star in the sky, to put it gently. .

That seems to be the answer I am getting for a few other people. I think I am going to order some ITP Holeshot ATRs. I have heard these are a great all around tire, and won't be disapointed!

Smart move. Radials are awesome. I know because I use radials also.

Go to Highlifter-Tire Talk. It's on the 3rd page now: Maxxis Bighorn Tire Report. Hope this helps.
