New Maxxis sport tire, nice!
#1
In my new april-2004 issue of ATV-sport mag, i saw a 4 page advertisement of maxxis tires. it shows all of the tires they make (and rims!) but i noticed a brand new sport tire! it looks downright awesome, and comes in fronts and rears. i cant really compare it to any other type of tire, but has anyone else seen or heard of them?.... its called the "<u>i-RAZR</u>" !!! but i havent seen it availible anywhere yet? i want to buy a set, depending on how much they cost that is anyone have any more information about this new tire?

Now I wish I had paid more attention to the tires... I was at an Ice Race in Spirt Lake IA. ( home of the Polaris MC factory ) they had a 50th aniversary Dale Erhard Preditor on display there... I thought it had the same Dunlop radials that come stock on the YFZ 450 ???

I think that the tire looks a lot like the tires on ATV Off Road Fury 2. Yeah, they do look a lot like the 400ex tires.

I guess the rear version looks similar to the stockers on a EX, but these maxxis' are more agressive and made from a much better compound. but the fronts look awesome, like a modified razr front almost. but Cooler i like these new tires, but i bet they wont be out for many months (or years) haha.

I called Maxxis about these tires, and was told they will be out sometime in April. Bill Balence (sp) GNCC champion is running them now. I guess he likes them a lot. They didn't have a price on them yet, but they will be close to Razr2 prices. The sizes that will be available first will be 20/11/10 and 20/11/9 rears and 21/7/10 and 22/7/10 fronts.

Thanks
At least one of us was able to get off our butt and make the call
I know maxis makes truck tires (pu suv etc ) and they look pretty good in appearance but I have only seen them on the sponsored riders tow vehicles so I have had no one to get an honest opinion from lol.
If these work as well as the stock 400ex ohtsu's and have better puncture resistance they will have a winner, and we will have a much better performing tire and can finally say good bye to these bias ply ones we have now.
Too bad that there going to be expensive in the begining etc.
