I put a new set of ITP 589s on my Sportsman 500 HO. I have now changed out one or more of the tires two times trying to get a smooth riding set and they are still out of round/balance. It rides terrible. ITP must have no quality control program at all. Has anyone else experienced this with the 589s?......Thanks

Nope, not blems, brand new. When I put the ATV on a lift and spin all four wheels they shake like crazy, which is very noticable at speeds above 30. I am really put out with ITP.....Trapper

 

Are they balanced? With heavy tires like the 589's you may have to do it, especially if they are oversized.

 

No I have not balanced them, that should probably be my next move. They are not bigger in diameter but oversized in width by one size, therefore heavier, so balancing may be the answer. Thanks......Trapper

 

OG, Are your tires ITP 589s? Try putting your machine on a lift and spinning all four wheels and if your tires are like mine you will see that at least two of them are noticably out of round. It's simply poor manufacturing on ITP's part......Trapper

 

Og's are titans. They did the same thing when they were on his 360. He swapped em to the p650 and its doing the same thing. He told me tonight that he had a bent rim but it looks like it may be a tire problem.

It's obvious to me from my own experience and from all the discussion in this forum that the ATV tire manufacturers are not building their tires for speeds above about 20 MPH. Hello, tire makers, ATV guys go faster than that!!, build us some round tires!!!!!!!! Trapper
