Default Poor mans lowering kit

I've seen a couple of threads on here where people have mentioned making a poor mans lowering kit for ice racing and flattrack racing their quads by using ratchet straps to compress the front suspension.Could some of the people who have done this give me some feedback on it and let me know how they did it.

My Polaris Sport 400 is only used for flattrack type racing and I was wondering how I could compress the front suspension with the straps since it uses struts.

I have a way to easily strap your front strut suspension, without negitively effecting your steering, if it's close to the same as the Prairies... it netted me 2nd place in the Ice figure 8 races last weekend... It requires some set up before hand, but is easy to add & remove the straps after the initial work is done... the added hardware, consists of 3 - 3/8" eye bolts, which can be left in place until you need the straps again... I offered up the full explaination on "the" kawi forum, but couldn't find it to cut & paste here...
