Welcome to the forum gixxer1k, Im not a quad guy so im not sure what is really popular on quads. But on a dirt bike, Ohlins would be my first choice if i could afford them.

Thanks to the marketing machine that is Elka suspension Ohlins (and most other good shock companies) have been lost in the shuffle. Ohlins makes absolutely excellent atv suspensions with a variety of applications and levels of performance. If I were going to go out and buy new shocks tomorrow I'd be looking for the yellow springs.

I run Ohlins on my 250R front and rear and they are phenominal shocks. The performance is top notch even after a long harescramble race in the hot Florida sun. The quality of their products, from performance to fit and finish is excellent. Im happy with my purchase.

As Maddog said Elka is a marketing machine. Elkas are great shocks and used by many people. Product support is what makes them great. People like that kind of service. Are they better then everyone else (Axis, PEP, TCS Ohlins) probably not but the service factor is there. I have run ohlins on my banshee for the past 6 years and they are great. Unfortunately the US support of Ohlins is not like Elka's If the support is there I bet you would see alot of Ohlin Equipped machines. Some of the technogy used on Ohlins is now being used by Elka (Low and high Speed compression) Ohlins is now starting to get serious with the ATV Market. If you think they were great before just wait. My next shee will have ohlins, no question about it.
