What kind of size`s can be put on the Rancher with out stressing your power train and lost of power. Would like to stay close within stock size but get the 4 or 6 ply rating. I do not need the extra ground clearance from the taller tires, just the stronger tire to resist puncture and give me more traction on the trails. I have found the stock rear size but not the stock front size. 24x8x12 I like the Dirt Devil`s the best. I have e-mailed Treadepot.com for information and waiting for a reply

Well I noticed no replies to my post. So maybe I need to explain. I do not know much about tires and would like to know what would be a good tire to put on my 4x4 Rancher ES. I can not find the same size of stock tires in the after market tires . So what size do I get? I know I want a tire that does not take much power lost or stess the drive train much. I will buy wheels if needed but do not know what size. Please help. The trails I ride are hard on my stock tires and I will soon be getting a flat.

I have Dirt Devils on a Rancher 4X4 and have used them on some pretty rough hunting trips(25 miles cross country). They were great in loose dirt, rocks,...above average in mud up to the top of the wheels, but slipped on smooth rocks and a plywood loading ramp on to a pontoon. Overall I like them and the price was right. They are a good all around tire and I had no punctures in some ugly jagged rock conditions.
However, a Honda 400 with Bearclaws did everything I did and more. They grabbed on the smooth surfaces when I couldn't and crawled right up that plywood ramp on to the pontoon. I think they are a better all around tire and a tad more aggressive but they are listed as 4 plys. I don't know if that really makes that much difference. I will probably get Bearclaws next set. Does anyone know how high the tread is on the 25" Bearclaw tires??? Thanks Buckfever

Thank`s Guys for the input, I think I will check out highlifter.com for some tires. It looks like I need to change my stock wheels. I just want the most punture resistent tire I can get without much power lost. Maybe I will go 1 inch larger. Just need to know the sizes so the gearing stays the same also. Please keep the infomation going,Thank`s again.

I also have a 4x4 ES Rancher. If you want a good tire that will fit on your factory rims then go with the goodyear Mudrunners. Treaddepot.com has the best prices on them. If you are going to purchase aftermarket rims then your choices are unlimited. I really like the Titan 589's if I was going to purchase rims.
