I got stuck on my 05 foreman 500es the other day and I winched out but it seemed like it was having a hard time doing it. My question is do I need a better battery or is it just that hard on the winch and I need a ****** block. It was buried pretty good but I think it should've came out easier, it's stock height with 26" vampires.

 

Everyones bogs down when stuck good, its alot of work for that little machine to pull a 500-800 lb machine out, with a 3ft risistance of mud!

 

Winches have the most power with only 1 wrap let on the drum. The more wraps on the drum the less pulling power it will have. A ****** block will really help some times and a nother tip is to get your cable or rope up high to your winch point .Pulling up out of the mud can break the suction and it will move easier.

 

rev the engine while using the winch.... it helps -- but it will bog down esp in deep mud

 

You should only run your winch for 10 seconds and then let it rest for 10 seconds. Keep doing this until you are out otherwise it can mess up the life of the winch.
