12 tooth blaster sprocket
#1
Is there such a thing?I have been looking but not succesful.I would like to keep the 22 inch rear tires.I need more low end though.I want to replace all the sprockets and chain and get a 12 tooth front sprocket.I know this will slow me down! But that is ok.

I can give you my opinion and the opinion of people more experienced than me. A 12 tooth c/s sprocket creates an excessively acute angle for the chain to navigate. The chain can probably travel this angle, but with a considerable stress on both the chain and the sprocket, and possibly the counter shaft itself..can you say tranny rebuild? A better idea would be to go with a larger rear sprocket, about two teeth would be similar gearing to a 12 tooth c/s sprocket. Sidewinder could probably fix you up with the gearing you wish and give you the combos & ratios.
