Timberwolf problem

After depressing rear foot brake the brake stays locked after releasing the foot pedal any comments would be appreciated.

I had the same thing happen to both my front and rear brakes on my old quad, 97 Timberwolf. It sounds like the pivoting shaft that spreads your brake shoes apart may be corroded inside and not allowing it to spring back to it’s original position. Take your brake drum off and check to see that the pivoting shaft that spreads the brake shoes apart, springs back when the brake pedal is released. If not, it is probably corroded. Take the shaft out and clean any dirt and corrosion off of the shaft and then grease it and reinstall it. Then adjust your brakes. That should take care of your problem. Hope this helps.

Thanks Brian I appreciate info and will try your suggestion after I get home from work tonight. I really need that bike running good as ice fishing will be starting very soon.
