Default Studding tires

Has anyone ever put snowmobile studs through a atv tire from the inside and then put a tube in? My stock tires are wore out and I was wondering if the tire is strong enough or will the studs just rip out?

If you put them in then cut a piece of carpet and put it in the tire so the tube dont get a hole in it. I seen alot of people run like that.

Doesn't the head of the stud counter sink into the tire when u tighten the nut? Then the tube shouldn't rub on any sharp surfaces. How long of studs do people get? I don't want anything more than 1/4" to 3/8" sticking out past the tire *****.

read an artical about studding tires like your talking about and your right about the length because you still want the rubber to contact the ground .

They look like a inch above the rubber from the pics I saw. For them to work best put them in rows of three but slanted not streight across.

the info I read was from a guy that ice races and you don't want to much stud above the **** because if you get on asphalt or such you can loose control .

Why not stud them with snow tire studs. Just drill into the **** the dept of the stud and insert them with a stud gun. Easy, have done several car and truck tires, should work on an ATV tire as well.
