Default I need some help picking new wheels for Grizzly 700.

I am not sure what to ask so I will explain a little. I am trying to get some wheels that are wider or more offset so my new Grizz feels more stable. Who makes the widest, can i use my stock tires on them for now, do I need to get different wheels front and rear, what do the offset numbers mean, 5 + 2 and 2 +5 which is wider in terms of sticking out, obviously they are both 7 inches but which one will stick out farther? Thanks for any help.

wow, I feel dumb. apparently all ATV wheels are created equally, I just found out. the guy at the shop said the only thing we can do is put 4 rear tires from a solid axle quad and that will put crazy style width but it wont fit in the back of my truck. so if I go with regular aftermarket wheels and 26 in. swamp lites, is that gonna provide a noticeable difference in stability?

I think you will gain about 1" per corner it you add aftermarket wheels. Offset will be the same, but yamaha claims the width of the front stock wheels are 8" wide and 10" wide in the rear. however, if you take off your tires and measure, the fronts wheels measure 7" and the rears measure 9" wide. Aftermarket wheels, ITP, Supergrip, etc, measure a true 8" and 10" respectively. This is why you gain width with aftermarket wheels of the same width and offset. Call these guys, they can give you more detail on your specific quad. http://www.kgmotorcycletires.com/atv_big_foot_kits.htm

also go to the Artic Cat section and read the post on making quads more stable - great info and could help you make the grizz more stable - worked for me.

ditch the stock tires asap. thats your biggest issue with stability, hands down.

I put 26x10x12 on the front and 26x12x12 on the rear of my 2006 Grizzly on aftermarket rims and I gained about 2 inches on each side which dramatically improved the stability and the feeling of "rolling". You can see them in my gallery.
