Best Trail tires for Socal Desert?
First I did a search and have read alot of similar tire questions....but I am going to ask anyways ....... I can't decide what tires are best for my style of riding
I ride mostly desert trails here in Socal and some woods riding up in the sierras and very seldom dunes. (Desert riding is where I ride 90% of the time). I am looking for a tire that will last a long time more than anything else, I do not race, I ride fast but nothing crazy just want a great trail tire that will last a long time and still have good traction up rocky desert hills.
I am looking at Razrs, RazrIIs and Holeshots ITPs.... currently I am still using the stock tires that came with my 2007 Raptor 700 SE but they are just about bald....what do you guys recomend?

Over the years, I have tried several different tires but always come back to the ITP Holeshot XC's. They are absolutely indestructible! I have never had a flat out on the trail...but I do run Fix-a-Flat all the time to take care of any thorn ******. They wear fairly well, and have a great tread pattern for So. Calif. conditions.
I have run the Holeshot XCT's now and again when I want more ground clearance, but being taller they make the bike a little more tippy and they slow the steering down a little.
Most important, I don't run the stock rims! I run ITP Baja rims that are wider than stock and have a greater offset, and when you combine that with wider tires I end up +4" in back and +3" in front....for a real real nice increase in stability (something a Raptor can benefit from!)!

Holeshot XC's come 22" front and 20" rear. XCT's come 23" front and 22" rear.
The stock Raptor comes 21" front and 20" rear...so if you go taller in front you might slow your steering down a little. If I had a Raptor and was looking for more ground clearance, I might go 22" XC in front and 22" XCT in rear (???).
