Default Side wall leak

I have a small pin hole leak in one of my front tires (Mudlite XTR's 27') The hole is in the side of the tire and I was wondering if this can be repaired. Can I patch it from the inside or use slime, or something else?. I really don't want to spend 125-150 bucks for a new one. If someone with insight on this would respond I would greatly appreciated it..

Thank You!!

If it's only a small hole, not a slice, you should be fine with just a plug.

If the plug doesn't do it then patching it from the inside definitely will. I patched a 1/4 inch gash in my sidewall with a patch and it's fine. Slime did not work as it didn't stay on the sidewall and would stay sealed.

I plugged a sidewall leak in mine two weeks ago. I had to put 2 plugs in because the hole was too big for one. It hasn't leaked yet. I'm not using slime either.

I had a sidewall slice in my old Mudlite XL's with 6 plugs in it. What a site!lol They lasted till I got rid of the tires a year later. Plugs will do wonders however I believe you are talking a radial and I'm not sure how the plugs would hold up to the sidewall flex.

I took it to a tire store and they said the hole was to close to the bead to patch. They plugged it and after riding at Big Rock on Tues. it held up just fine... Thanks for the all the help.

I have a tire that goes flat after a few days(I cant hear or see where it is leaking from) and I don't want to slime it my question is can I bring it to any local tire shop to have it looked at or will they look at me funny?

It's probably a bead leak or a leaky valve. They can air up the tire and check for leaks, take the tire off and check out the tire and wheel, change the valve, and clean up the bead on the wheel. Sometimes there's rust or dirt keeping the bead from seating all the way.
