Default Swamp Lites Vs. Maxxis Zilla

Im buying new tires for my brute, but Im stuck on a choice. Price is an issue, and for my budget Im considering Swamp Lites or the new Maxxis Zilla.

A buddy of mine has a set of swamp lites on a 05 traxter max , they seem to be alright.

Im looking for some opinions on both tires.

Love my Swamp Lites and after many miles-over a 1000 the only drawback Ive found is that in real sand, beach type sand they will dig trenches if you get throttle happy, other then that they are ace's in my book especially for the money. Oh yeah as a added bonus they measure roughly 1.25" bigger then advertised, a 25" will measure a tad over 26" @ 4.5psi where most other brands measure smaller then advertised.

I have 25" swamplites on my kingquad and i really like them. Plus i have gained a little ground clearance. They are a very good all round tire. I would buy them again. Also i bought mine at atvdirect.com for 230 dollars shipped to my door.

I bought mine through www.mudthrowers.com They have free shipping which is a major plus when shipping four tires!

I have to go with the Zillas. My buddy has swamplites on his Honda and they load up with mud and turn into slicks ( just like my old Mudlites did!) in our peanut butter like mud here in Georgia. They would clean out but you had to spin them super hard. I have'nt had my Zillas long but they fly through the mud and clean out much easier. They ride good on the trails too. The choice is yours they are both great tires, but for me the Zillas do better.

I agree with you on Mudthrowers tancat. The plus is that if you have any problems, Matt will fix it right up for you.

Well if budget is your main criteria between the two--swamplites are the way to go. The Zillas weigh a lot, lot less, but honestly on the Brute, its a moot point. I would say the swamps are probably smoother riding and perhaps do a bit better on the hardpack. Mud is probably real close, with a nudge going to the Zillas--just looking at the lug spacing. Again, both quality tires and you can't go wrong with either. Throw money into the equation and I think the Swamps win--plus they look so much cooler--IMHO.
