My 2 friends and i just bought Rubicons. My question is what tires should I go with to get an advantage over them in the mud and snow and climbing without loosing any power or speed. Also I don't want too much of a rough ride. Thanx Rubies rule!!

If you want better traction but without sacrificing any speed go with 25 inch tires (same as stock). If you are willing to give up a little speed go with 26 inchers. If Mudding is really important go with 27's or even 28's, but expect to install a lift kit and fender kit with 28's and you will notice a power loss. Either way you go I would say Goodyear Mudrunners and Titan 589's are the best Mud tires that still ride good on the trail. My $.02

I would either go wit vampires or highlifter outlaws and since you have a ruby 500 i would go with 27" or bigger espicially if you mud alot.

Thanks guyz , I really like the Titans. I just figured they would give me too rough of a ride.

mule347, I just put 26" 589's on my Rubicon last week. I can hardley tell any difference as far as the ride goes, they ride as well as the stock tires on the hardpack. In the mud, there is just no comparison between the 589's and the stock tires, so I've been really happy with them.

okruby- Do you have the new 589's (2nd Gen.) or the originals? If you have the new ones let me know, because I have a few questions about them in particular. By the way what did you pay and where did you get them?

I have the original 589's. Paid 64.00/tire at Rocky Mountain ATV.

You can go up to a 26" without noticing much difference in power. 27" and above is more noticeable. I went with the Mudrunners, and am very pleased with their overall performance. They easily go anywhere my buddy's 589's will go.

Hey guys. Just to let you know I went with 26 inch mud runners. Just put them on today, but I haven't got to try them out yet. What is the best air pressure to run in theses tires? I have about 5 psi in them now . Thanx.
