Default Zillas vs Mudlites

I have a new set of Zilla's in my garage to be put on tonight. I hope I can give you an idea seeing as how I have had Mudlites, Swamplites, and now these. I didn't like the Mudlites due to sidewall slices regularly (plugs upon plugs) but did like the Swamplites. I'm hoping these Zilla's are nice.

So did you have a chance to test out the Zilla's? I have a Kawasaki 650 Brute Force and am looking into getting 26*9*12F and 26*11*12R. I also have mudlites currently and have had to fix more then one hole or slice. I am wondering since the Zilla's are so light that they too may puncture easily?

Thanks Chris

I haven't had a chance to run them much yet. A small ride with plenty of snow and they did great but not a long ride. I have a King and went with 27x9x12 and 27x11x12. As far as punctures or slices, I researched them well before buying and not once did I hear of any problems like that. That was a pain with the Mudlites. I had 8 plugs in one slice on those. One thing I will say is the Zillas measure closer to true size. The 27" are measuring 26 3/4". I went with those tires and the ITP ss12 rims for $585 to my door from mudthrowers.com. Strange thing there though, the price said $711 til I put them in my cart. Go figure.

Are they a smoother ride then the mudlites on hard pack or road? You had mudlite xl's right. During your research to you find any info on how the tires wear?

They ride pretty much the same as the Mudlite XL's on hard pack and a little better in mud. What I heard from most people is that they wear "middle of the line" with the Mudlites being soft and wearing quickest and the 589 to be hard and last longest. This is what I have heard from questions I asked and I'm sure you'll get different responses on here too.

The Mudzillas I have seen are more hare core single purpose mud only tires, like Vampire tires. The Mudlite XXLs maybe close in comparison but the XLs and AT are more general purpose tires compared to Zillas.
