Default Problem with Hiper beadlocks

I have bought some new Dunlop radials to mount on some Hiper single beadlock wheel that came on this Raptor I bought. I cannot get the beadlock to seal at all. I followed the directions and went to 10 ft/lbs with all the bolts, going around three times to confirm and air leaks everywhere. I then, I am sure like many others tightened the crap out of the bolts. That sealed most of it except right at the valve stem. Now I have used centact cement right where the tire seals to the rim on this rim and the other front (the one I did not over tighten) and still cannot get them to seal!
I seems that all the sealing has to happen between the inside edge of the tire bead and te outer edge of the outer bell of the wheel. Most tires are not smooth and are not designed to seal there but these Dunlops have a texture that is made up of vertical like ridges that seem impossible to seal.
Has anyone else had this issue?
Zach

Default Problem with Hiper beadlocks

bead sealer? an old guy at the track, told me that grease would work on my race car beadlocks, but i think i'd clean off the contact cement & put some bead sealer on it.. or put tubes in them.

hey im having the same problem you are. i have new dunlops off of my 08 trx450r and cant get them to seal for anything. i think the tires are kt 331's. i have a new hiper CF1 R front rim, followed the directions, tried grease and wd 40 used a snap on torque and am quite aggervated. the air is leaking from around the inside just as you described. i think it is wrong to rely on glue or grease to seal a wheel. i bought the wheel direct from hiper and will call them monday 4/20/09. i will get back to you and see what they say. i am thinking a different brand tire with a thicker bead area.

UPDATE: i got around to working on my cf1r today and it is now holding air. hiper sent me a new outer half, beadlock ring, and o-ring. i had a fun time getting the o-ring to stay in place. i used the dunlop tire again and it has held air for two days. now i have to put it on the bike and see how long it will last.... i had cracks around my beadlock threads for the screws and hiper said the outer half was defective, they have good customer service. i only used 7 ft.lb. of torque on the beadlock bolts instead of the 9 to 11 hiper says. i noticed when i went above 7 the area around the threads started to bulge. so go easy on the wrenching.
