We`re heading down to Oklahoma this weekend. I was wondering what chain lube most poeple use in the sand? I usually use Maxima chain wax. Is this good to use? If I used a non-drying type of lube, wouldent the sand just stick to the chain and wear it out? Please tell me what you use in the dunes. Im leaving Wednesday night. Thanks

 

I went to the Little Sahara OK 2 weeks ago. I was talking to some guys down there and they told me not to oil or wax the chain. The sand is very fine, it's like hour glass sand and will stick to anything. My advise is don't do anything to your chain and clean your air filter often. If you have a K&N get a outerwear. There are places to buy all that stuff down there.

Dont lube your chain at all?? That will mess it up. My freind told me about this "dry" chain lube stuff that you spray on and it dries to form a coating thats not sticky and doesnt attract dirt. I have never heard of it but you should look into it.
