quadmaster drive train
#1
I have a 00 Quadmaster. I dropped the front into a deep puddle and totally filled up the belt drive with water. I am going to have it taken apart an looked at. I am curious has anyone done this and did they repack bearings? I am hopeing to clean it out keep the original belt and maybe buy a new gasket and be done. THe belt is 190, gasket 35. This happened a few months ago. So far I just drained it at the time, flushed it out with a hose, and dryed it out. It is making a bit of noise though after about 55 miles.
I am also experiencing an overheating problem the radiator and fan dosent seem to be sufficient enough for slow trail ridding. Especially with a little mud ridding. Fan fuse is good, coolant is good, thermostat is opening, fins are not bent? I always get the overheat light while riding.
How does the auto tranny handle 27 or 28 inch mud tires? My friend had a 99 LT-500 with the gear tranny and with 27 vampires constantly ripped out the back axle housing bearing. I heard they changed the design but dont want to have constant problem by trying the tires on mine. Havent even found out if 28 589's will clear. Leaning toward 27 bi claws.
