Packrat--- Can't answer clearance question, but CAN tell you a tire source. That is : East KY. Motorsports. Talk to Wesley on the counter. He is a good old boy. I bought 4-589 M/T tires(stock sizes) for my Foreman-S, delivered to my door for $255 !!!!!! They are online, check'm out. The M/T's are heavy, but I think you will grow appreciate their toughness and traction in the conditions that you operate. I love mine.

Pacrat

My brother bought tires fron East KY motorsports and said they were a great dealer. Very knowledgeable and nice to deal with.

I have heard about the weight issue with the 589s. How does it differ from the stock tires? Loss of power / acceleration? Steering? Can you feel the weight?

Weedy--- I stayed with the stock sizes: 25X10X12/25X8X12 and noticed NO power loss. Noticed no problems with the weight gain. Any of the negative effects were cancelled by the incredible traction in mud and decent traction on hard pack. AND the increased resistance to punctures afforded by 6 ply rating! These tires are VERY rough on the road, but WHO wants to ride the road anyway?????? I WILL buy these tires again!!!!!!!! Yea, the steering effort is LESS than with the stock tires(on my Foreman-S).

That is the size tires on my machine now. How deep are the lugs and are they rough on dirt trails? Are they true to size? I have heard Goodyear Mudrunners (the other tire I am considering) seem small.

I think they are a little large, maybe 25 1/2". They are great on hardpack, awesome in sandy/loamy soils, incredible in mud. The 589 M/T's have lugs that are 1 1/2" deep(I THINK, won't swear to it) See cataloge. The 589 A/T's have a shorter lug-5/8" I believe. I see you are from TX., if you ride all hard pack and road....you may NOT want the M/T series tire from Titan OR the Mud-Runners. I ride a LOT of clay mud in the Appalachian Mtns., the M/Ts fit MY NEEDS to a "T"!!!!! Good Luck!!!!!!

I ride in sand, mud, deep water and sandy trails. I ride in a little of everything. The Sportsman independant suspension should be soft enogh to smooth out some of the rigidty of the 6 ply tire. By brother has Bearclaws on his Sportsman and thre is very little difference in the ride from stockers. The MT seems to be the way to go!

I am glad you purchased from East KY. My brother said they were great to deal with.
