Rider Review-Holeshot ATR Tires
Just put the new ITP Holeshot ATR Radial tires on both the Ranchers. They are on (light and beautiful!!) 12X7" ITP Magnum aluminum rims. Keep in mind that I ride in the desert and mountains of the Southwest (so we don't have the mud that you have in some areas), so my comments are based on that type of terrain.
Overall, the tires are very impressive!! They give the bike a much more sporty feel, than either the stock tires or the (clunkey, stiff, hard, and heavy) Blackwaters that I previously had on the bikes. The combination of rims and tires make the bike MUCH WIDER (I am guessing like 4" ), for some very welcome added stability!! The front tires are very wide, with a flat tread profile. This is how a utility tire should be, unlike the pointed profile of the stock tires. You Rancher (and Recon to a lesser degree) owners may notice that on some surfaces (hardpack for me) you get a lot of terrain feedback from the steering (a mild form of bump steer I think??). Well, that was completely gone with the tire change.
Traction was excellent, except the tires tended to wallow a little in the really deep sand. The tread ***** are very deep, and can really take a bite out of the ground. But, it was still easy to slide the rear during high speed cornering, even on the 4X4. On the 2X4, the fronts pushed (understeered) a little in the soft stuff, but none of that at all on the 4X4. I did some tough technical old mine roads, with rasor sharp rocks. The tires came through without even a scuff mark.

Rider Review-Holeshot ATR Tires
Hi YZGUY,
Just wondering if you lost any hight (ground clearence) with these tires, you said they have a flatter foot print than stock type tire (round face) These look like a great tire, I just don't want to loose any ground clearence. Reply appreciated ,Thanks Bill

They are suppose to be equal to 25-8-12 and 2510-12, even though tey have metric sizing, My friend has them on his new Grizz with the stock wheel's, they are about 1-2inches wider than the stocker's front and rear, and with 5 psi of air were the same height as the Dunlop's 24 1/2- 24 3/4 inche's tall, he like's them really well.......

These are actually 1" taller than stock so you gain a bit of clearance compared to those. But I lost a little from the Blackwaters that I was running before. The ***** are VERY tall, and take a good bite out of the terrain. But, the tire doesn't look like it would shed mud well????
