rim offset
Can someone explain to me what rim offset is. It is normally described with 2 numbers. What do these numbers refer to? How can I tell what my stock rim offset is? I am considering ITP ATR holeshot tires for my kodiak on c-series rims. I have heard that these rims when mounted on the quad will make the overall width of the quad 4 inches wider. I would prefer to stay with a stock width. Would there be any disadvantages to mounting these tires on my stock rims?

What size are your stock rims?? The ATR is made for a 12X7" rim, although you might be able to put it on a rim of a slightly different width (but the diameter will have to still be 12"). I have ATR's on ITP Magnum 12X7" rims, and it does make the bike at least +3 both front and back. I really welcome the added width because it greatly increases the stability of the bike. I would gladly go even a couple of inches wider if I could (anything up to 48" is fine with me)!! I would think you would welcome some extra width, which would give you more clearance from the frame and fenders.
The two offset numbers are the amount of rim on the inside and outside of the hub. For example, the 9X9 ITP rims I run on my sport bikes have an offset of 3+6". As I recall, the offset of Douglas 9X9 rims is 4+5", so the ITP gives me two extra inches of width over the Douglas. Sorry, I don't think I have ever seen what the offset of the C-Series 12X7" rims is.
