Opinions on front sand tires???

I'm talking about the "mohawk" type, or "ribbed" dune runner type. Do they float on top of the sand better than regular knobbies? What about 21 inch vs 22 inch sizes? Maybe there is a light weight knobbie that works just as well??

Go with a straight rib such as the dunetrackers. The Mohawks tend to throw more sand and do not turn as well. I think they look cooler, but would never buy them due to the performance factor. As far as size go with the 22's. The 21's look really small, and they are. Hope this helps.

I have always preferred the Mohawk to the ribbed, primarily because it is lighter. The sand robs so much power, anything you can do to keep weight down (especially weight on a wheel where it can do the most harm), is a plus. I prefer the buffed down skat-traks. Flotation is excellent.
