Driftwood rant now because Hounymen is closed for riding quads out of.

 

So Driftwood isn't a campground but just a big paved parking lot? Can you still get a yurt on a non-holiday weekend in the summer or are they all booked up? Do you also have to pay a fee to park and unload the quads at the dunes?

 

I paid $6 a day for the day use area and I had a yurt last weekend. So yeah it is possible. More so now because you can't ride from there. The driftwood is good for people who are 100% self contained with their RVs. You may have to call it in a month or so in advance, but you can get a yurt. Come to think about it, if you are going to trailer out, then it makes no difference what loop you are in. You can get a yurt in any loop.
