New dune rider needing help

Silver Lake is NOT in the Upper Pennsula. It's on the west coast of Michigan, right next to lake michigan.
I think it's about 1.5 or 2 hours north of the indiana border.

I stand corrected. Sorry for any misleading info. Having never been to Silver Lake, or to Michigan for that matter, I thought that was what that area was referred to as. Sorry

It's a-ight. I just wanted to make sure the people don't avoid going to Silverlake because they think it is too far.
Never been to Michigan and you're in Ohio????

If its your first time out and you don't plan on being too agressive, you should be able to get away with just letting some air out of your stock tires. This has an amazing affect in sand. Doesn't compare to paddles, but it would get you through your first ride. Without paddles I would also keep an eye on your tempurature. You can overheat if you find yourself chugging along for extended periods spinning your wheels without going fast enough to get air through your radiator.
