yep! Winchester is a great place too. I shouldn't have been so hard on Sand Lake. Part of my problem was that I was riding by myself and probably didn't really know where I was going. Going with someone who is familiar with the area always makes for a better ride. At least it's a place to ride, and that's what counts in the end.

Just got back from Sand Lakes weather was great, riding was good, camping sucked. We had to camp off Derrick Rd. for the first two nights, because Sand Lakes was hosting a BRONCO FEST. The Derrick Rd. camp site was for druken partying losers not for families. We were camping next to the most loudest rudest people. Oh, by the way thanks for sharing some of your most personal experiences I'm sure all the camp site was glad to hear about how much alcohol you brought & the lingirie you wear at night. Finally on Sunday we got into Sand Lakes & a full nights rest. Riding was excellent, & most people cool. Good for overnight, go to Florence for a four day weekend.

Sand Lake isn't the place to go if you plan to sleep...thats for sure. People think its fun to rev there motors at 3am in camp. Trying to sleep in a tent is near impossible. Even if you stay up till 3am...at 7 am the dirtbikers are ripping back and forth because they couldn't ride all night, so they are up at the crack of dawn. I like late fall and winter the best down there....less people.
