choke cherry

A couple months ago we went duning for the first time at little sahara and st anthony. I hit all of the steep dunes at st anthonies except for choke cherry but we did stay at the top and watch for about an hour . Since I was new to hillclimbing I wanted to see how others did before I attempted it and after seeing stock raptors only get half way up after about 5 trys and a 400ex only get about a quarter of the way I decided to pass on an attempt(chicken) Most modded quads got to the top without to much problem. I was wondering if the conditions of the sand change to where stock machines can make it. I have a vid of a stock cannibal making it and that day I couldnt make it all the way to the top of the devils wall if thats an indication of sand conditions . I also borrowed a set of 10 paddle tires which I think are to many for my speed. Just wondering about your experiences. Next spring I wont pas up the oportuninty .

I don't really know much about dales, but there are some machines that have a hard time getting up that hill. I've seen lots of videos of guys not making it up.
I don't see many 4-strokes w/ 10-paddle setups.

I used a set of 8 paddle ballon tires to go up sand mountain the day before and they seemed to work great but the next day I tried the 10 paddle which were more square design and you could tell they had much more drag to them and howled at speed .

My speed made it to the top of choke cherry and devils dune last august. Devils I made it on the second try the first I tried to power up it didn't get a good run at it... Choke really wasn't that bad I carried enough speed at the bottom and dropped gears on the way up top keep rpm high. I was running 9 paddle haulers 22 8 10's. I have a WWE 450 compIV with a trinty stg.IV pipe.

The wetter the sand the easier it is to climb. If the sand is frozen in the winter you can go most places with your stock knobbies
