I live 15 min from pismo. I'v been going their for as long as I can remember, 1 good tip is to make sure you air down your tires, you can start at about 15 - 20 pounds. depending on how heavy your load and what kind of tires you got. I run 10 pounds in my truck and I can go just about anyware in 2 wheel drive pulling my trailer. And yes be carfull if you get stuck dont go to the tow truck guy right away he will rip you off 2 to 300 bucks. Somtimes you will get lucky and their will be a nice guy like me with a good tow strap to pull you out for free. or mabey a few beers. I love pulling out a guy right in front of the tow truck its great they get pissed.

 

This is a tough decision, big dunes or bikini's. Camping on the beach does sound pretty cool.

 

not sure how many bikinis you will see. you might get luck though (if you are going all that way go to glamis see some real dunes) pismo is fun though.

 

How bad does your quads, trailers and any other thing that is metal rust at Pismo?

 

Pismo or Dumont is just a stop on the way to Glamis. You can't go all the way to Oz without seeing the wizard.

It gets HOT at Dumont all summer long. For example, I was passing through Baker on I-15 - about 30 miles from Dumont - in late June or early July a couple of years ago, at 10:30 PM. Outside temp was 106 F. Thats too dam- hot even for night riding.
